How to track breastfeeding in Loaf
Time each side while you breastfeed, or log a feed afterward. Loaf keeps the last known side so you can check it before the next feed.

Tap Breastfeed from Loaf's Home screen and choose a side. In this example, Left is selected. Tap Start left to begin timing. Switch to Right when your baby switches sides. Tap Pause when you need a break, then Resume to keep timing. Press and hold Finish breastfeed to save. Open History to see the feed and the time on each side. The timer runs briefly in this demonstration; use your baby's actual feeding time.
Follow the steps
You can use the timer or log a feed after it has finished.
Start on the side you are using
On Loaf's Home screen, tap Breastfeed. Choose Timer, then Left or Right. Tap Start left or Start right to begin timing that side.
Switch sides or pause
Tap the other side's card when you switch breasts. Loaf keeps each side's time separately. Tap Pause if you take a break, then Resume when you continue.
Finish the feed
Hold Finish breastfeed for about a second, or double-tap it. A single tap does not finish the timer. If you finish by mistake, tap Undo.
Check the saved feed
Open Home's Feeds card or History to see the feed. Home also shows the next-side hint when Loaf knows which side the last feed finished on. Open the entry if you need to correct it.
Questions about breastfeeding in Loaf
Can I log breastfeeding without using a timer?
Yes. Open Breastfeed and choose Log a feed. Select the side or sides, add the timing you know, then tap Save breastfeed. You can leave the duration unknown.
What if I only want to remember which side I used?
Choose Log a feed and save Left or Right without entering minutes. Loaf keeps that side and shows the opposite side as the next-side hint.
What happens if I close Loaf during a feed?
Closing Loaf does not finish the breastfeeding timer. Open Breastfeed again to return to it.
What if I forgot to stop the timer?
Open the running breastfeed and set Finished to the time the feed ended. Hold or double-tap Finish breastfeed to save it. You can also correct a saved feed by opening its entry.
Can my partner see the breastfeeding log?
Yes, if they have joined your family in Loaf. A log saved offline reaches the other caregiver after your phone reconnects and syncs.
