Keep your Nara history. Share what happens next.
Moving a baby log can feel like one more job. Start by saving a copy of your Nara CSV. Loaf's importer can preview the entries it reads before you choose whether to import them, then you can check the result and continue a shared log.

What the preview shows
Before import, Loaf shows the number and types of entries it can make, their date range, caregiver count, types kept as notes and rows it must skip. Check which child will receive the entries, especially if your family has more than one child. A preview shows how Loaf reads the CSV; it does not mean every Nara field has an equivalent Loaf field.
Breastfeeds, bottle feeds, pumping, diapers, sleep and growth map to matching entries. Other readable activity types, such as medications, solids, vaccines or milestones when present, become notes. Extra fields from mapped entries may appear in notes. Rows without a readable start time are skipped. Photos, attachments, settings and exact preservation of all metadata are not promised.
Bring the file, then keep logging
- Export from Nara. Open its main Activity screen, tap the avatar beside your child's name, then Export Data. Save the CSV somewhere you can find again, such as Files. See the export-only guide or Nara's own instructions.
- Open Loaf's importer when available. On the web, the import screen requires an email-link or Google sign-in and a connection. A first visit also needs a family. A released iPhone build offers Bring your history during setup or Settings → Import from Nara. Confirm the destination is working before relying on it.
- Choose and check the CSV. At Ready to import, compare counts, types and date range with Nara. Open notes about this file and rows will be skipped if shown. Check Add these entries to when a child choice appears. If a file mixes children, pause: the current importer can place multiple profiles under one child.
- Import and verify. At Import finished, compare new-entry and already-here counts. Find several familiar entries across dates and types in the Loaf log; check child, time and key details against Nara or the original CSV. If something looks wrong, keep the file and contact support before relying on the imported record.
- Continue together. Add a new entry, then invite another caregiver from the import result when offered, or from Family → Invite. A name in the imported history does not grant access. Each invited person signs in separately; someone on Android uses the browser companion. Ask them to find the new entry before adding their own.
Exporting and importing a CSV does not edit or delete your Nara records. Keep the original file. Logging, history and plain CSV export are Loaf's adopted free features; future extras may cost money.
Questions you may have
Do I need to delete Nara or switch on a particular day?
No. This process does not delete Nara data. Nara's FAQ says existing history stays viewable and exportable if paid access lapses. Check your own account notice for when new logging access changes. There is no verified deadline for exporting history.
Which entries become regular Loaf logs?
Breastfeeds, bottle feeds, pumping, diapers, sleep and growth map to Loaf entry types. The preview gives counts for your file. Other readable types become notes, which is different from fully mapped entries.
Will every detail, photo or attachment move?
Do not assume so. Some extra CSV fields may be saved in notes, but photos, attachments, settings and every original field are not promised. Keep the source file and compare details that matter to you.
What if the preview shows skipped rows or the wrong child?
Open rows will be skipped for row numbers and reasons. Check Add these entries to if offered. If multiple child profiles are in one file, pause and contact support. A row without a readable start time cannot be imported.
Will importing the same CSV again duplicate entries?
The importer recognizes source IDs from the same original file and skips entries already imported. Check the already-here count after a retry. A separately edited copy may not be recognized as the same rows.
How does another caregiver join?
Send an invite. Names in the Nara file label past entries but invite nobody automatically. Each caregiver uses their own sign-in. On Android, Loaf runs in a browser.
Can I export my Loaf history later?
Yes. Plain CSV export stays free. Use Settings → Export as CSV on iPhone or Settings → Export all entries (CSV) on the web while connected. Loaf's CSV is not an exact copy of Nara's format.
What if an entry is slow to appear for another caregiver?
Check that both devices are in the same family and connected. An offline entry can appear on the other device after it syncs. Do not recreate it immediately. If it remains missing, contact support with the type, approximate time window and platform; do not send a raw CSV unless a private review is arranged.
Your next three checks
- Keep the original CSV and compare the preview's types, dates, notes and skipped rows with what you expected.
- After import, find a few familiar entries, then save one new Loaf entry.
- Invite the next caregiver and ask them to find that new entry before making one of their own.
A shared log helps the next caregiver see what was recorded and continue from there. Track what helps your family; leave the rest.
